Skin Care Winter Tips
Essential Winter Tips
*Continue to protect your skin from the sun. (Sun rays can reflect from snow, sand, cement, buildings, etc..)
*Step up your hydration.
*Pamper yourself with an inexpensive milk bath.
As the winter months approach, we need to start thinking about the small changes we must make to our skin care regimen. It is very important to keep the skin protected from the outside environment.
As much as our skin needs to be shielded from the sun, it also must be protected from the cold weather. Even at this time of year, daily sunscreen is a must. On top of that, a makeup/powder with sunscreen will provide added protection. This is also the time of year to concentrate more on a good moisturizer for keeping the skin hydrated. A lighter moisturizer during summer months should be stepped up with a slightly heavier one during winter months. It is important not to let the skin become dehydrated as it is more susceptible during winter.
Going indoors to dry heated homes after spending time out in the cold and harsh weather conditions can wreak havoc on the skin over a period of several months. A humidifier can help, and it is important to use alpha Hydroxy Acids either in a face wash or topical treatment such as Pamela’s Vitamin A. Also, I like everyone to use Pamela’s Vitamin C, on clean skin in the morning to combat free radicals. These used together, will result in glowing skin. Proper exfoliation is also very important as it will allow better absorption for the moisturizer, thus providing better hydration. For healthy winter skin, it is important to keep the skin nourished, hydrated and protected.
