The Philosophy
A Personal Touch
At Pamela’s it’s all about you and your skin. She tells it like it is. She doesn’t try to sell you on gimmicks, products, or services that don’t work. Pamela’s only goal is for you to have beautiful flawless skin and a whole lot of pampering to boot. And really, isn’t that what we’re all looking for? No nonsense skin care. Here is some of Pamela’s Philosophy on skin care that have come together over the last 28 years of creating beautiful, flawless skin:
“If you are seeing a skin care specialist on a regular basis (every 4-6 weeks) and following a comprehensive skin routine that is suited for your skin, then you should have significantly improved skin and it should continue to improve. If that’s not the case, and she or he hasn’t given you a fairly simple skin routine to follow that will work, you’re not going to the right person. You just are not!
I have found that most people don’t know what to do with their skin. They read a magazine advertisement, see the airbrushed person next to it and run off to buy product after product. I’m sure you all have lots and lots of products in your homes that you used a few times, but didn’t get the result you wanted, and they sit. You need a program that works, and someone to do a facial on you every 4-6 weeks. There are plain and simple rules to good skin.
I know also that you have all been to the Dermatologist and taken the meds and they still have not given you what you are looking for. They have left your skin red, peeling, dry, cracked, and off balance. You can’t walk around like that! Let’s get some things straight. There is no magic cream. There are things that work great, but if your skin isn’t perfect, then you haven’t found it yet. You need to find what works for your skin. So you need someone who knows and analyzes your skin and tells you what’s best for you. Your skin is important to your well being. You need to be educated about your skin. I can tell you, show you, and help you, but I can’t be at home with you to make sure you are consistent about your skincare regimen. I always try to educate you about your skin and what to do when problems arise. You can always e-mail or call and I will walk you through it. However, you have to take responsibility for your skin when I’m not with you the weeks before or after your facial. So an educated client is the best. By educated, I mean knowing your skin and what it needs. We should all have beautiful flawless skin. There is no reason not to.
Your face is from the tip of your hairline (head, if bald) to the tips of your fingers. This includes your face, neck (front and back), chest and arms. Your sunscreen in the morning after cleansing is the most important part of your day.Rain or shine just do it. If you feel too greasy after the sunscreen, blot it off or use less of it. At night is when you use treatments such as vitamin A, moisturizer or a mask. I personally like to use my vitamin C for an antioxidant in the morning before sunscreen to combat the effects of the environment throughout the day. If that’s too many steps for you, just use the sunscreen in the morning after cleansing. Then you apply powder. I like Shisedo’s Sun Compact, but use sunscreen powder, then make-up if you use it and you are ready to go! This morning regimen should take no longer than 12 minutes from start to finish. By doing these steps you should see results.
Sunscreen should become a part of everyday life. It’s necessary 365 days a year, rain or shine. Get used to it. Find one that works for you. Any sunscreen in the baby aisle that is SPF 50 or higher is what I use. If it’s good enough for a baby, then it’s good enough for me. It also has zinc, which is healing for the skin.
All in all, the way to beautiful skin is by getting the balance right, being consistent, sticking to the program that best works for you, and of course protecting your skin. I am always here to help you with your specific concerns- I truly want everyone to have beautiful, flawless skin!”
